About how long have you been playing on the server?: 1 1/2 months

About how long have you been playing SS13 in general? And which servers have you played on?: 5 1/2 Months. I've played on Citadel RP, V.O.R.E Station, and Chomp Station.

Head of Staff Department:

  1. If you are playing captain, what are some of the key departments you should know?
As Captain you should have a basic knowledge of most departments, however special care should be taken to know more about Security, Medical, and Engineering given their importance to the continued function of the station and its crew so you may weigh in when needed in a meaningful manner. A general knowledge of SOP in all departments is vital to working as Captain should an issue or emergency arise.
  2. You sign on as a low ranking head of staff (I.E. CMO, RD, CE, HOS), and find yourself the only head of staff on at that moment. Please tell us what you would do next.
If there is no current emergency I would fax for additional heads as needed. In the event of an emergency needing the support of the Captain I would send out an urgent fax for assistance for a Captain. In the event a colony director could not be found and the situation is dangerous enough that not having a captain would cause harm or death to both the crew and the station only then would I take on the mantel of acting colony director in the case that I am currently a head of personal or I was voted as acting Captain in a vote consisting of all active heads of staff, relinquishing the title the second a proper Captain arrives or the situation is resolved.
  3. What should you take as Acting Captain? What shouldn't you take?
As acting Captain one should take no more than 1 non-explosive lethal weapon, 1 collapsible baton or stun baton, and one set of body armor, namely something that is not cumbersome. What shouldn't be taken is any more than 1 lethal weapon as it is a violation of Corporate regulations § 212 Major Contraband. However as acting Captain it is not my priority to take on every threat, instead it is to protect myself and move away from the danger if possible.
  4. What are you allowed to carry? What should you carry?
One lethal weapon and one baton along with a set of non cumbersome light body armor. Optionally basic medical supplies and personal effects can be carried on your person as long as it does not over encumber you. Items that are restricted from the general crew like a firearm from security or Materials like phoron from science unless the current situation requires you to have these items on your person (Ie. Returning them to their rightful departments)
Questions for Security Roles:

  1. When do you use your taser?
Your taser should only be used when a suspect is not receptive to verbal commands and presents a current danger to themselves or the crew or is currently fleeing from an arresting officer.
  2. When is the proper time to have your armor and helmet equipped?
Your standard issue vest is allowed to be worn at the officers discretion at code level green. On code level blue a helmet is allowed and encouraged along with the standard vest however they're not mandatory. At code level red and above armor and helmet's are mandatory until the code level lowers.
  3. How do you start an encounter with someone charged with a minor crime? A moderate one? A serious crime?
For a minor crime first and foremost the officer should start the encounter with as little hostility as possible, with their firearm holstered and a calm demeanor. Corporate regulations should be followed, giving a warning when appropriate and arrest when needed. If an arrest is needed then the suspect is required to be given the option to pay a fine immediately. Upon paying the fine they are to be immediately let go and the fine brought to the HoS, HoP or CD where appropriate. Should the suspect refuse to pay the fine they are to be arrested. Should they refuse handcuffs the officer is to comply, and the suspect be escorted by no less then two officers. If two officers are not available the suspect is to be made aware and placed in handcuffs. In the case of moderate crimes a careful but still calm demeanor should be held and much like before the same procedure for an arrest is made with care taken should the issue escalate and require the use of tasers. It should be noted that for moderate crimes and above the option to not be handcuffed is revoked. In the event of of a major crime non lethal weaponry is to be drawn and the suspect, baring special circumstances, is to be stunned and arrested on the spot if doing so would not bring other crew members to immediate harm.
  4. You're a security officer who is tasked to arrest someone for something minor, lets say breaking and entering into Science. How should you proceed to arrest them? Once arrested what do you do?
For a minor crime I would approach the suspect in a calm manor, telling them that they are a suspect for the given crime and are to be arrested. If they comply and give themselves in I would give them their legal chance to pay the fine for the crime at which point I would let them go should they pay. Should they not pay the fine I would inform them that they are under arrest and are to be put in handcuffs. Should they reject this I would call for backup to escort the suspect to security. In the event an officer can not come I would inform the suspect of this and escort them in handcuffs. Should the suspect have resisted arrest I would stun them with my security equipment at hand, placing them under arrest without option to pay a fine or reject handcuffs. Once arrested in either scenario I would take them to security for processing, reading their crimes to them from the book of corporate regulations and telling them that they may appeal to an IAA. Should the IAA or CD deny the appeal after the investigation, should the suspect request it, the sentance would remain unchanged and they would be handed to the Warden for time in the brig.
Questions for silicon roles:

  1. You sign on as a borg/AI. The default law is leading to cause damage to the players and you're unaware why. Can you request a law change?
If my default laws are causing harm to the crew I would ask for assistance from other cyborgs or the AI if available. Should things be unsolvable and the laws could not be reasonably followed only then would I request a law set change from those that are in their power to do so.
  2. Someone manages to get into your upload and uploads a law that could break server rules. What should you do next?
In this event I would AHelp Immediately and ask for an admins advice on the laws that could conflict with server rules. If they give the go ahead and the rules do not preference break I would try my best to play by these new laws. Should there not be an admin available then I would "Shutdown" until the issue could be resolved or request that the law be changed by the original uploader to something that would not break server rules in LOOC.

There are a few details you miss but, I like these response and with this I will give you green. I will get around adding you to the whitelist, if you have any questions and concerns, I will be your point of reference.

What should you take as Acting Captain? What shouldn't you take?
You want to carry the spare as well as this will give you captain access and making your job easier.

How do you start an encounter with someone charged with a minor crime? A moderate one? A serious crime?
Forgot something, you can always charge them a fee from minor and some moderate crimes.

You're a security officer who is tasked to arrest someone for something minor, lets say breaking and entering into Science. How should you proceed to arrest them? Once arrested what do you do?
You always want to give them the option for a fee charge, specially for minor crimes.
