What do you know of their mechanics?: Mostly similar to prometheans with the added ability to collapse down into a blob form which consumes steel to heal. Oh yeah they also eat metal for various effects (damage resistance, healing, speed, etc.). Complete resistance to the vacuum of space, reduced brute, increased burn. I have a whitelist over on VOREStation and as such have experience playing as a protean.
What do you know of their lore?: Proteans are not really their own species, rather 'protean' is a term used to describe those who have transferred themselves to a new body made of self-replicating nanites that can more or less imitate most materials. As a result a protean may have been of any species before becoming one.
What idea did you have for your character?: Looking to port over and soft reboot a character from Virgo. A once-kobold with a strong interest in robotics who, after saving up for a few years, decided to become a protean so he could take a more draconic form because it's 'cool' and 'a technological advancement' and 'totally not a confidence boost' (it totally is).
