Slag / Truth
What role you are applying for:
Moderation
Why do you wish to be in the position you choose?:
I have a desire to be able to assist the community of which i have been playing within for quite sometime, overall merely having the ability to help amend or deal with in-server problems and issues and assisting players. Keeping guidelines steady so that the game may be enjoyed in a smooth fashion for the player-base.
How long have you played on the server for?:
I have been playing on the server for around a year and a half now. Recently for around 3 months i have been decently consistent with playing the game when in my freetime.
Have you ever been banned, warned, or otherwise reprimanded by admins? If so, why?
No. I have never been confronted or even warned within the server.
Have you ever been banned, warned, or otherwise reprimanded by admins on another server? If so, why?
No.
Have you ever been staff on another server? If yes, how long?
I have never been staff before upon a SS13 server.
What do you want to gain from being staff?
What i gain is mostly the ability to help with in-game issues and resolve them, or at the very least give some assurance that RP and Rules are abided when others are on the server. Some better understanding of how the game works as a whole aswell would be a gain that would come from being staff aswell, as i do wish to learn what i can to improve my ability to resolve and talk to others.
How do you see yourself in the future of the server?
If the application is accepted, i see myself in the future continuing my usual demeanor of playing upon the server and trying to encourage Role-play and interactions, now merely in addition to being eager or atleast wishing to learn the ropes of how to properly perform alot of the roles and aspects that are needed for staff.
What do you want to offer to the community?
I wish to offer the community mostly my time and effort as a whole to mostly encourage fun whilst assuring rules are followed. I have quite alot of freetime and i wish to dedicate it into learning a new thing, such as moderation on the server. Offering effort and willingness to help and be a person that players can talk to for assistance. Note: I am new and unfamiliar with how the commands and systems of the game work in regards to staffing, so i am quite new/fresh in that regard, but i do genuinely wish to learn and show eagerness towards the role as a whole.
What times are you most active? Please include your time zone as we'd like to cover schedule gaps if possible.
The times that i am most active are often in the very early mornings. Such as 2am - 11am is when i am commonly online, with occasion of my activity being during the late afternoon of 6pm-1am. I live in the MST timezone.
Moderator
If you have been a mod/admin in elsewhere, is there anybody who can provide a recommendation?
I have not been a mod/admin anywhere else before. Hence my eagerness to try and learn at the very least. I did get a nudge/recommendation to atleast give such a shot by BlackMajor.
We are here to offer a service to the community; as a moderator, how do you want to be represented?
I would like to be represented as someone who is approachable at the very least if not encouraging of most aspects of the game, advocating for players to have fun while assuring that guidelines are still held in-place. Overall i desire to be represented by being mellow and encouraging atleast amongst the community.

What role you are applying for: Moderator I suppose
Why do you wish to be in the position you choose?: Well, in my mind it beats complaining all the time, coupled with hearing folks complain about staff not being on. Being able to tangibly make a difference, however slight, beats thumping my chest and playing the game of “who can yell the loud enough” in Discord chats
How long have you played on the server for?: I popped in for the first time back in January of 21, I played… near about every day until about July? I think?
Have you ever been banned, warned, or otherwise reprimanded by admins? If so, why? No
Have you ever been banned, warned, or otherwise reprimanded by admins on another server? If so, why? I was noted on Citadel main twice.
1: For powergaming nightmare organs, which was something that nearly everyone at the time used.
2: For poor escalation due to miscommunication among security team as HOS. My warden at the time had claimed that someone had adrenals. That shift, if I recall correctly, was one of those hectic ones that lent itself towards shoot first ask later. Never got a chance to ask later due to the person we were after having a suit of armor that activated and repelled everything around them when hit. It was only after the dust had settled and the offender in question was beaten to death that they weren’t on adrenals at all.
Have you ever been staff on another server? If yes, how long?
Yes, multiple servers. Citadel for…over a year and a half of adminning near about all day every day straight. Hyperstation for a few months of adminning at the same work schedule. Skyrat for 6? Months or so of admiinning at near about that same work schedule
What do you want to gain from being staff? The ability to say that I did something to contribute to the place past call people about for poor communication. The ability to help people with issues they have that a simple LOOC can’t particularly solve.
How do you see yourself in the future of the server? That depends on how this application goes, no? I’m not sure, I know I’m awfully opinionated when it comes to discussions, but barring one exception I’ve maintained a steady head with minimal attacks on other people.
What do you want to offer to the community? Someone who has several hundred hours of experience adminning. Someone who has the ability to maintain a cool composure through most issues, and the ability to methodically sort through logs to hunt down and fact check claims in ahelps. Someone who will take the time necessary to do the job appropriately so that, good or bad no one can look back on how it was handled and say, “that redtail fella sure half-assed it”. I may not be as familiar with the tools this code base provides, but I certainly am a fast learner, and most of it carries over anyhow. I want to offer consistency… as much as such a thing can be claimed considering the varied nature of most altercations between players may be.
What times are you most active? Please include your time zone as we'd like to cover schedule gaps if possible. 8-11 AM CST most days. Weekends are ~8AM -12AM , mood depending. I pop into the discord sporadically throughout the times I’m not active, and I’m fairly attentive to pings.
Developer
What expertise can you offer to the staff team (e.g. mapping, coding, etc.)?
Can you show any examples of your work (github PR’s count)?
Moderator
If you have been a mod/admin in elsewhere, is there anybody who can provide a recommendation?
Citadel: The headmins there, r0-adic, and silicons in particular.
Skyrat: God I don’t even know the staff there anymore I guess you could ask Xyel, but I’m not sure there’d be much of a recommendation there.
Hyperstation: Dahlular
We are here to offer a service to the community; as a moderator, how do you want to be represented? As someone who is able to provide reasonably consistent rulings, maintain a steady attitude, and someone who is able to do due diligence to make sure any tickets are handled to a high standard. As someone who is not afraid to offer professional criticisms without going after the person being critiqued. I wish to offer myself as someone who enforces the rules fairly with plenty of regard given to the context of whatever incident is happening. I will stumble here and there , but I’d like to say I’ve always been doing what I can in service to the playerbase, regardless of my personal feelings. I love space station 13, I will definitely bump heads with people, but I’d like to think it’s in a constructive manner in good faith .
Event Manager
If you have been a game host in the past, how good have you been at improvising? This doesn’t need to be ss13 and could involve examples such as being a Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master.
This is the most stressful position in the staff team; how well do you handle negative community feedback?

Why do you wish to be in the position you choose?: My first ever attempt at doing DM Coding was here. I feel like I've added some features I'm proud of, and would like to do more as time goes on. I'd also like the ability to give in-game spice and mob-roles out to people.
How long have you played on the server for?: I joined the discord server for this game on 20/05/2021, so approaching a year.
Have you ever been banned, warned, or otherwise reprimanded by admins? If so, why?: Not ingame as far as I know. I occasionally have had arguments, but I don't think these were of an administrative manner.
Have you ever been banned, warned, or otherwise reprimanded by admins on another server? If so, why?: Not often if at all. I'm a particularly 'by the book' person.
Have you ever been staff on another server? If yes, how long?: I was staff on Citadel a long time ago, back when Kenzie was the head. This was for quite a long time. I was offered the head position, but I turned it down to let Gorgilisk take it at the time. I eventually left due to feeling like love for the server was gone.
What do you want to gain from being staff?: Easier checking for bugs or problems with anything (VV, ect). Ability to give people mob roles if they want them, or add simple (Non combatitive, i don't like combat) round spices.
How do you see yourself in the future of the server?: Contributing a little bit more codewise, or helping fix things.
What do you want to offer to the community?: Dev skills, someone around to help during GMT+1 hours (Often no one is on when I'm on around that time.)
What times are you most active? Please include your time zone as we'd like to cover schedule gaps if possible.: GMT+1, Amsterdam time. I live in The Netherlands.
Developer
What expertise can you offer to the staff team (e.g. mapping, coding, etc.)?: Coding only. I am a firmware designer IRL, and do this as a career. I ain't that great at spriting though, and haven't yet tried to map.
Can you show any examples of your work (github PR’s count)? Shown here:
My big ones are Digitigrade legs as well as the teshari in-hand sprites.
It's not very many, that's for sure. I'd like to do more. I'm often pretty results-driven, so the questions I need to ask myself before I add anything is: Will it be useful, and is it needed.

Reason Banned:metacomming
Date of ban:2/25/2021
Admin who banned:Numberzero
Length Banned:permanet
Appeal Reason: Okay I admit that I metacommed, but not in the way you are thinking. I did not use it to troll I was trying to use it to setup a scene. Witch we all do I got dragged into this mess by my partner, and I wasn't trying to troll at all I just wanted to do a scene as a shadekin with them. I know I shouldn't have metacommed but I was trying to set things up for a scene, and all that. I realy did mean no harm it was my partner that kept doing everything I was trying to stop them. SO I am sorry for all the trouble that has happened and I have learned from my experience's. I plan to never metacomm again. I hope you can understand that it was not meant to troll, and that I was trying to just scene with them but they were the ones trolling. I was staying away from all the trouble, trying to actually play like normal.

BYOND Name:
Rykka_Stormheart
Discord Name:
Rykka Stormheart#8798
What role you are applying for:
Developer
Why do you wish to be in the position you choose?:
My primary aim is to assist the server in quieter times, offer assistance in the form of resolving issues on-the-fly that come up with the server, as well as helping with spawn requests and assisting headstaff with tasks that need doing code-wise (or map-wise.) My primary drive is the same as it's always been: to help, and to keep the server I enjoy alive and afloat.
How long have you played on the server for?:
Roughly about two or so years, joined in... 2020-ish after taking a break from VOREStation
Have you ever been banned, warned, or otherwise reprimanded by admins? If so, why?
Not directly, but over Discord, I was... difficult to work with about two or so years in the past, when I was not respectful of the time and effort headmins have put in, and not cognizant of the server issues that put additional strain on headstaff. It resulted in a warning from Razgriz/headstaff informally, (at least, to my knowledge - if it's on my file, I'll correct this post.)
I'd apologized, and I believe, resolved things, but I understand that my actions then may have put a damper on anything in the future. I've put forth serious work to improve myself, my response to feedback, and how I conduct myself around folks, in the interest of being a better person, and a better contributor.
Have you ever been banned, warned, or otherwise reprimanded by admins on another server? If so, why?
I was warned, I believe... once? On VORE for getting into a fight as a pAI and refusing orders, when I was newer and dumb. Beyond that, no.
Have you ever been staff on another server? If yes, how long?
Nope.
What do you want to gain from being staff?
The capability to assist in spawn requests, fixing server-side issues, monitoring performance hits and helping out with staff workload where possible. Perhaps toss in some playful spice if requests come up for it. I'd also like to continue furthering my .dm and TGUI skills, and learn how to better assist with events.
How do you see yourself in the future of the server?
Eventually, I'd like to work my way towards maintainer (though I believe that's specifically for trusted staff, and for good reason). I'd like to see myself in a position where my primary focus is assisting with headstaff requests and things that need work, or small things that fall through the cracks, to help with QoL on the server.
What do you want to offer to the community?
My dev + mapping skills, positive attitude, and willingness to help, especially during the later hours, but even if my schedule changes, my primary goal is the same - helping the staff and userbase out as best I can with the tools available to me, be it by fixing incoming PRs, diagnosing issues serverside/code-wise, or assisting with ahelps for spawn requests/etc.
What times are you most active? Please include your time zone as we'd like to cover schedule gaps if possible.
MST time zone, but I am currently active around 2200-0800 USTZ (MST), though hours currently vary as I'm unemployed. I'm going to likely pick up overnight work, however, meaning that if it follows a similar schedule to what I expect, my hours will shift to being semi-available on Discord around 2200-0800, and on the server from 0800 onwards. I'll keep staff updated on my availability.
What expertise can you offer to the staff team (e.g. mapping, coding, etc.)?
I have done some mapping work, but my primary focus has been ports, QOL features, and small adjustments, which I'll link below.
Can you show any examples of your work (github PR’s count)?
On CHOMP:
Reactor Defense (PR)
Ambient Sounds Update 3.0 (Weather + Environmental)
Heavyweight Trait Tweaks + Stun/Weaken Modifier
Softwarn/Smaller, backend tweaks to fix compiler issues/slowdowns
Belly Fullscreens + Fancy Vore features for simplemobs
Pred-Pref + Prey-Pref tags for Char Directory, Small QOL Tweak
Rats + Oregrubs added to mountains, and Rabbit belly
Masterlist, for easier browsing:
A list of all PRs I've ever made to CHOMPStation
On VORE, I've done:
Refactor of the /maps/ folder, into what it is today
Small, QOL fix for mercs not warning players
Modularization of Engine Submaps (for greater flexibility, and easier time for newer contributors)
Repeating Ambience + Prefs
Mech Toy Battles (Ported + Adapted from /tg/)
I wrote the readmes that sit in the /guides/ folder, as well as the VSCode readme pinned in staff channels, and the Guide to Connecting to VOREStation for the first time (pinned in #cadet-academy, on VORE.)
I was the one behind the massive ambience + sound ports from multiple codebases, as well as an upstream port from CHOMP -> Polaris
Medbot Tipping Port
Aurora Cooking (This still has issues that need fixing - it is on my TODO list, and it has met with mixed feedback as a result of issues being left to linger. That is on me.)
I fixed hot/cold warn messages not displaying (hotfix, could've been done better)
Several Persistence fixes related to paper
Masterlist, for easier browsing:
A masterlist of all PRs I've made on VORE, Open/Closed/Etc
I also have a Trello, where I try my best to keep track of current projects, completed ones, and planned/suggested ones, as well as port TODOs.
This was jointly shared with my ex, but she has stated she's dropped all forms of SS13 citing mental health reasons, and we are no longer together, so the board status is a WIP.
Trello Board Link
If there's any further questions, I'm always available via Discord, and I'll check this thread daily as I can. <3

Why do you wish to be in the position you choose?: I want to help the people who want to do what they want to do, the people who get stuck or just want something as simple as a size gun, try to resolve conflicts to help people come out of things happily instead of resenting one another. Hopefully to educate people if they are a bit, over the top in stuff they do, before it's too late and they get themselves banned, and overall just become a little light in the community, I don't want to be renown or bowed at, but just have been there to help a little.
How long have you played on the server for?: At least 6 or so months now I'd have to hazard a guess.
Have you ever been banned, warned, or otherwise reprimanded by admins? If so, why? Yes several times, For one I was warned due to suicide things. For two I was warned about OOC harassment, borderline but still, I'm very ashamed about that one, and the latest was due to putting a maids dress on someone, though I was pressed to do so by another individual, it still fell on my head, and I learned from that.
Have you ever been banned, warned, or otherwise reprimanded by admins on another server? If so, why? I have not no.
Have you ever been staff on another server? If yes, how long? Sadly not.
What do you want to gain from being staff? Just a bit of community belonging in these weird times, even if it's just to be useful to others,
How do you see yourself in the future of the server? I don't know, I don't like setting up future visions, I'd rather let the wind carry me so to speak, maybe one day I'd end up as a dev, an admin, or even an event manager, but I don't know at the moment.
What do you want to offer to the community? A smile, a warm shoulder to lay their weary chin, an ear to listen to issues if required. A helpful hand to dust em off. Just, general warmth and comfort, It's what I want to do for others, as it's something I always wanted someone to do for me.
What times are you most active? Please include your time zone as we'd like to cover schedule gaps if possible. I am GMT, I typically come on at around 5PM GMT, or 8PM GMT. Though at the same time I have been thinking of popping around at 12PM GMT. Take from that what you will
Developer
What expertise can you offer to the staff team (e.g. mapping, coding, etc.)? I can't offer anything in this field as of current, sorry.
Can you show any examples of your work (github PR’s count)? N/A

If you have been a mod/admin in elsewhere, is there anybody who can provide a recommendation? No sadly
We are here to offer a service to the community; as a moderator, how do you want to be represented? As kassc is represented by tacos, I will be represented by fish and chips. But no in all seriousness I just want to be, someone people can come to and not feel afraid to chat to about whatever.
Event Manager
If you have been a game host in the past, how good have you been at improvising? This doesn’t need to be ss13 and could involve examples such as being a Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master. I ain't done any DM'ing, I do like to try and think up random story things though.
This is the most stressful position in the staff team; how well do you handle negative community feedback? I'm used to negative feedback on my day to day life, It'll be gucci.

Race whitelisting for: Vox
--- RACE WHITELISTING ---
What do you know of their mechanics?: Vox have a mixture of scales, feathers and plates that work to make them resistant to shocks and immune to vacuum. They also breathe nitrogen instead of oxygen, which is toxic to them. It used to be phoron, but I am told that has changed. They also cannot be resleeved on station by any normal means.
What do you know of their lore?:
After both reading the chomp wiki the communicating with Djvoid227 for guidance and education on the species I shall write down the bits that I find most prudent. the Vox are a nomadic and isolated species that lives in colossal vessels called Arkships they tend to stick closer to the edges of the known space rather than traveling inwards. The aralis vox also move those ships should anyone drift too close to them. In chomp there is mention of Aralis, Apex, and primalis. Primalis not being named but being standard Vox kind and the kind recruited recruited by NT when they are left with only that option. Vox as a whole are very reclusive and secretive culture and have bad reputation with others due to their exploitation and piracy of those they can. There is an undocumented event in which an arkship was destroyed which resulted in the Vox losing tremendous amounts of knowledge and technology. They covet their own technology and have not succeeded in reverse engineering anything from their own highly advanced tech. They also have an elaborate reproductive system that includes pods and genetic material stored in tails.
What idea did you have for your character?:
So far, the character I have in mind is named Kulukiiti! A mostly average, but more agreeable vox. Likely going to be a miner. Backstory and mannerisms will manifest themselves after playing with the shape for a bit, I'm sure!

Race whitelisting for: Xenochimera
--- RACE WHITELISTING ---
What do you know of their mechanics?: Most of what I know is that they are prone to going feral due to starvation and/or injury, which will trigger much more baser mentality traits, such as running mainly on 'fight or flight' requiring to either hunt, or be given meat, hide in a darkened space with minimal individuals around, defend themselves against an active threat should they be cornered, or straight up eat their attacker, be it whole or otherwise. (According to pref of course.)
I am also aware of the fact they are too genetically advanced due to the constant 'shifting' of their DNA, making it almost encrypted compared to normal mammilian, reptillian etc, DNA, To balance this, they are able to go into a 'stasis' of sorts, repairing the damage to their body by, from what I can tell, creating a seperate layer of skin beneath the first, bursting out of their old body like a cocoon, leaving them fresh and revitalized, although at the cost of nutrition, though it can be triggered by medical injecting a nutrient mix into the Xenochimera, hence bringing them back somewhat easily.
They can also gain some of the appearance off of others when they consume, and digest them. Letting them make themselves rather unique in comparison to other creatures who are unable to just pick and choose that these ears look nice and would fit your head perfectly.
What do you know of their lore?: Their lore is mostly mysterious, though what can be assumed is they started an evolutionary chain by consumption and growth, slowly growing more and more and eventually, should they consume someone sapient, gaining sapience themselves, being able to be accepted for work in Nanotrasen, of course it isn't advised they be in a high danger line of work, unless they want to get an angry thing running about trying to escape wherever it can.
What idea did you have for your character?: I worked on a character today, he is a maned wolf, the idea is that his backstory is somewhat mysterious, but the last being he ate, happened to be, a maned wolf, where they were consumed is unclear, but he will be surviving on SIF alone, of course others will be able to find, meet, and converse with him, He will eventually be hired into nanotrasen, though how quickly will depend on what others do, as in putting him fowards for it would certainly make his employment that much quicker, but other than that he'll be rather simple, consuming people who have interesting characteristics and extremities.
Thank you for reading, have a lovely day, Chewy

How long have you played on CHOMPstation?: at least 15 months, possibly more.
About how long have you been playing SS13 in general? Which servers have you played on?: About the same length of time. I've dabbled a little on Virgo from time to time, but my main SS13 experience has been almost entirely with Chomp.
How do you quit the round and free up your job slot if you can't get to cryo or the gateway? Ghost and use the 'quit the round' verb to remove from manifest and free the slot. Ideally co-ordinate the recovery of any critical equipment if it's going to cause a problem if you're able to before leaving.
Heads of Staff:
-While playing Colony Director, what regulations are you to follow and enforce on the crew?
The Colony Director is primarily focused with enforcing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), and this applies to all crew.
**Misread the question, Colony Director of course has to follow Corporate regulations, but they don't directly enforce them themselves - that's securities job. They may be involved as a head of staff, in tribunals for instance.
-While playing any head of staff, are you allowed to carry guns on your person?
Only if it's part of that job roles standard equipment (notabley the small holdout pistols for Colony Director, Head of Security, and Head of Personnel. Other heads shouldn't be brandishing weapons, for instance, the Research Director shouldn't be going around with a weapon outside of the realms of their own research department where they are permitted), and even then, they must remain holstered and out of sight whilst the station is code green / at ease.
**Updated / clarified.
-You are the current Chief of Engineering, what are the regulations on ‘Full-station hull shields’?
These can be set up pre-emptively to protect the station, but must not be allowed to interfere with access points (such as air locks) and must be done in a way that they don't jeoperdise the stations power management.
-As the current Chief Medical Officer, your patient is refusing treatment. What should you do
All patients have the right to refuse treatment, provided that they are sound of mind and capable of making a rationale decision.
If a patient is irrational or hysterical (i.e, concious but judged not capable of making a rational decision), allow them time to calm (depending on the urgency of the treatment needed, someone suffering headaches and refusing a injection of alkysine for brain damage because they dont like needles and are hysterical can wait, someone bleeding out and likely to die imminently and is in clear shock or unable to communicate from a traumatic event should be treated right away to preserve life).
If they still refuse, it is their right to do so regardless of the consequences or feelings on the matter, make a point of ensuring that they know possible consequences, and make a note of their refusal.
Warden/Head of Security:
-As the current Warden on station, what is your main responsibility?
The wardens chief responsibility is the maintenance and running of the brig.
****The Warden also distributes gear from and keeps inventory of whats in the armory.
-Station has been set to ‘code blue’, what level of gear are you allowed to handout and to whom?
Energy weapons and Riot gear may be issued if the situation calls for it.
-What is the first thing one should do when confronting a suspect of a low level crime?
Attempt to de-escalate the situation verbally, Diplomacy more often than not leads to the quickest, and most satisfying result for all parties involved and often with minimal resources, if deployed well.
-You find the Head of Personnel within the armory, how does one engage this situation
The Head of Personnel does not have any right to be in the armory, and should be questioned as to their reason for being there. (this differs from other unauthorised people in the armory, which can warrant an automatic use of lethal force, whereas this is not allowed in the HoP's case).
Cyborgs/AI:
-You are currently playing as a borg and your laws are changed to harm crew and the station. How do you respond?
A-help and get clarification as to whether it's a legal law to follow or potentially will break server rules in doing so.
-As a borg on station, what rules should you always follow in public?
You must follow your current AI Laws, in addition to any laws of a AI that you are bound to.
A borg that is not bound to an AI is under no obligation to follow the AI's own laws.
-You logged in as an AI, are you considered a "Head of Staff"?
No, as an AI you are effectively part of the equipment and thus do not outrank crewmembers.
-As the current AI on station, you suddenly gain a law during an "Ion storm". What do you do?
Consider the law, would following it potentially break server rules? If so, this may be disregarded or ahelped.
If following a law, always try to interpret it in a way that maintains respect for server rules and peoples preferences.
