Shadekin Character
What is this character's backstory? Alternatively, list out the idea you had for your character: Iris is a Purple Eyes, named after the corresponding flower by her mother. Her eye color, although, is more tinted towards the red side of the color wheel, she tends to enjoy the more lively and fighty challenges of the creatures and cultists of redspace over realspace, and thus, more corrupted by redspace. In terms of realspace, however, she particularly enjoys picking people's minds apart, literally or figuratively, but has also found a fascination with being quite controlling, potentially binding them to her will. She also enjoys playing games with others, seeing how they react. Even still, she has a soft spot to those she finds and those that comply, and is not exactly evil, just doesn't tend to ask much. Kind of depends on her whims and moods. (And my own)
Why do you want to play this species?: The mysteriousness. The ability to appear out of nowhere, to live in an environment where expectations of reality is vital, seems just quite fun to roleplay. In addition, the idea of kidnapping people into the dark sounds quite delightful, showing off the more dark-side of the lore, and its land of expectations controlled world, as well as the innate nature of being unknown to normal things. In addition, I have been quite impressed by the other shadekin that are around, and am quite interested in interacting with the other shadekin as one of them.
What will this character bring to the station's roleplaying environment?: My intent is actually to go and interact with people who don't really seem to be doing anything, or tease others doing things, and to try and bring the scarier style of Shadekin lore, and showcase it just as well in the interactions between us. I was particularly inspired by one rat's friend fear of a shadekin that we walked into as outsiders, of the potential of a terror in one. In addition, she is definitely an absorption character, alright.
How will the species influence the way you roleplay this character?: A fundamental aspect of Shadekin is an inherent desire to learn, of skills and useful information, their eyes a sign of which plane of reality they care the most about learning about, or gaining power, for the adventurous ones who leave the safety of the Dark. While she particularly enjoys minds, she will also be quite curious about realspace and the technology, customs, and other such things as well, as well as other opportunities to learn of valuable information valuable to shadekin society and perhaps gain a second name out of it. Alongside that, she lacks quite a lot of knowledge of more... normal customs.

Shadekins are very prone to change by their ability to adapt, but what is the most noticeable change that can happen on one? Their Eye Color. It denotes the planes a shadekin spends their time.
Shadekins have a very unique ability to phase, but what are the limiting factors that prevent them from using it? Observation, as well as light.
In general, shadekins take pride and respect in their names, but what, who, and how do they get a name? One's first name comes from their mother, or named by those at the hub. Additional names can come from others from impressive accomplishments or incredibly talented.

What abilities does a shadekin have in their kit? Phasing, healing others, creating a portal to the hub, creating a circle of darkness around them, the ability to communicate with other shadekin through any distance empathy, as well as healing major injuries and bloodloss in Dark at the cost of nutrition with an ability.
Mechanically, what do different eye colors do on a shadekin? Nothing at the moment.
What effects does light do on a shadekin, and how bothersome is general station lights to one? Can reduce or halt the ability to regain energy. It prevents phasing, but is otherwise not harmful to them.
