Shadekin Character
What is this character's backstory? Alternatively, list out the idea you had for your character:
They were raised in The-Dark by a small group of shadekin and lived in a hideout where their kin were mostly known for scavenging for goods in order to trade for food. Eventually, Churro took on the same role of helping to scavenge for valuable things for food. However, at a young age, they became addicted to sugary pastries, and that alone was their motivator to do most of their scavenging and, consequently, to find better ways to trade for better goods.
Churro dedicates most of his time to teaching other shadekin how to conduct fair trades while also trading himself. With many years of experience, he has become skilled at it and has amassed enough goods to consistently obtain food whenever he wants. His primary motivation for trading is to obtain sugary pastries, and he often trades phoron to try new varieties. However, despite their strong motivation for food, Churro has no knowledge of how to prepare or cook it.
Why do you want to play this species?:
To enrich the station with more unique species and provide entertainment for the crew whenever possible, Shadekin are a great addition. When portrayed effectively, they offer a lot of potential for roleplaying, and many players are very fond of them.
What will this character bring to the station's roleplaying environment?:
Besides engaging in vore-related content, I aim to depict shadekin as a peculiar space anomaly, an extraterrestrial species that distinguishes itself from the majority of known species due to its distinctive needs, morals, and values that stem from its innate nature.
How will the species influence the way you roleplay this character?:

Shadekin Lore
Shadekins are very prone to change by their ability to adapt, but what is the most noticeable change that can happen on one?
One of the most noticeable change a shadekin can have is their eye color and their ability physically adapt with their surroundings.
Shadekins have a very unique ability to phase, but what are the limiting factors that prevent them from using it?
Light can have an impact on their ability to regenerate energy, and direct observation can prevent them from phasing out.
In general, shadekins take pride and respect in their names, but what, who, and how do they get a name?
Besides being given a formal name by their parents, Shadekin typically identify themselves by a name based on their accomplishments or discoveries.

What abilities does a shadekin have in their kit?
Dark Respite: Heals major injures if you are in the dark.
Dark Tunneling: Builds a portal that leads to the shadekin hideout. Only 1 per shadekin.
Create Shade: Creates a circle of darkness around the shadekin.
Regenerate Other: Healing spell that heals others for a few seconds.
Phase Shift: Shadekin can phase in and out of reality.
Mechanically, what do different eye colors do on a shadekin?
Varies some Shadekin stats, such as how they regenerate energy and their energy levels. (Not fully implemented yet for Carbon-Shadekin.)
What effects does light do on a shadekin, and how bothersome is general station lights to one?
Aside from the fact that light can restrict their ability to regenerate energy, light is generally not bothersome for shadekin. Their tolerance for light is no different from a standard human.
